Armistice
Dearest Uterus,
I don't know why I always try to give you a run for your money. Time and time again, you've shown me who is boss. Each time, I lose miserably. Clearly, your name is HOV. Today, my back, stomach, and the rest of my body are done. We're wrapped in a white flag and waiting. We're pleading with you. Make it swift and painless, if possible.
If you, queen B decide to just do it like Nike, and make a run for it, I won't even try to stop you. No objections or questions asked. I know you've got to handle your business.
As I lay here, I hope that the stars will align in my favor and that the Gods will be merciful. I await your response.
XoXo,
Estella and the rest of her body.

Salif
It's 7:35 and I'm outside the theatre waiting for Salif Keita's show to start. The anticipation is killing. The Somerville Theatre has done an incredible job bringing African artists to the Boston area at a reasonable price this. From Baaba Maal to Rokia Traore to Habib Koite and a few others.
I'm so excited its insane. At this point, I feel like I need to sit on my hands.
8:05. We're all in and seated. Salif comes on stage and the audience is at their feet. The next 1 hour and 45 minutes explains why.
Best show ever! Salif was incredible and oh so sweet. Outside of being a great performer, he was incredibly humble.
Hope you enjoy the pics!
Next show I'll be seeing will hopefully be Nas and Daimen Marley at the House of Blues.

Living <3
I love having my days! Its strange because I was definitely working about 54 hours a week. Now I'm down to 12. For the first week, it felt awful. I was unproductive, tired, incredibly stressed, and just blah.
Four weeks later, I feel liberated and calm. I feel at jamm and it feels good. Real good, actually.
I've slept in more times than I can count, stuffed my face (I should seriously probably stop), walking loads, reading, researching, blogging (I'm getting better),drumming, Wolofing, attending some pretty sweet concerts, and just trying to relax, son!
All in all, it was much needed and it's been good. Its been very good.
Enjoy!
Besos,
Estella
